Bringing the masters back
Paulin, Adnet, Ponti, Grossman, Corsini — the lost-and-found designers at the heart of GUBI.
Gubi
GUBI's signature move is rediscovery. Pierre Paulin's sculptural F300 and pillowy Pacha; Jacques Adnet's leather-strapped mirrors and tables; Gio Ponti's slender 1933 F.A. 33 mirror; Barba Corsini's Gaudí-inspired Pedrera — all were drawn decades ago and could easily have stayed in the archives.
That so many nearly didn't return is the point. A design's survival is not guaranteed by its quality; it depends on someone deciding to make it again, correctly.
Research, not nostalgia
Reissuing these pieces is not nostalgia. It is research: working from original drawings and the designers' estates to remake each piece correctly, in the right materials, with the right maker — so a 1955 table arrives as the original article, not a tribute.
Design that was ahead of its time, and still is.
The work is often invisible in the finished object, which is exactly the aim. A faithful reissue looks inevitable; only the archive knows how much was reconstructed to make it so.

The most sustainable move a house can make
It is also, quietly, the most sustainable thing a design house can do — keeping work that already proved itself in use, rather than adding to the noise of the new.
A design that has been wanted for sixty years carries a kind of evidence a new launch cannot: it has already survived changing taste. Remaking it is a bet on the proven rather than the untested.
Buying the original article
For a buyer, the value of a faithful reissue is certainty. The materials, the maker and the proportions are the designer's, not an approximation assembled from photographs.
That is what GUBI sells alongside the object itself: the assurance that the piece in your room is the design as it was meant to exist — recovered, not imitated.
