A factory at the northern edge of Japan
Time & Style designs and produces furniture, lighting, tableware and lacquerware on the principle of evolving traditional Japanese techniques for contemporary living. Every furniture process — buying the logs, milling, drying, cutting, assembly, polishing, finishing — happens at the brand's own factory in Higashikawa, Hokkaido, with machinery kept to a minimum in favour of the hand. The result is furniture built to be used for a very long time, with visible respect for its material.

The company architects keep
Few houses attract collaborators of this order. Kengo Kuma has produced furniture with Time & Style — his MA sofas furnish his super-textural WE Hotel in Hokkaido — and describes his practice as designing people's lives rather than architecture. Peter Zumthor chose the house to realise his first consumer furniture collection: pieces his atelier had developed for individual buildings over fifty years, finally made available in 2022. And through ēdition, launched with Boffi | DePadova, Time & Style's washi lighting and solid-wood furniture entered Italy's most sophisticated interiors network.
Rooms of quiet weight
The house's Sculpture Casting Bronze table — its base cast with a technique traditionally used for Buddhist statuary, carrying an elliptical oak top — was featured on Dezeen Showroom as dining furniture with deliberate, bold presence. Flagship stores in Tokyo, Osaka, Amsterdam and Milan present the collections as complete environments: washi light, solid wood, lacquer, ceramics.
Why Objena: Time & Style has no Australian home. We intend to be it — presenting the collection the way its own flagships do: as an atmosphere, not a product grid.
