The house

Nani Marquina founded nanimarquina in 1987 with the aim of turning the classic rug into a contemporary design object.

The Barcelona-led house works with designers and master weavers in India and Pakistan, using hand processes that leave each rug with its own material character.

The hand of the weaver remains visible in the room.

01 · The relationship

Objena values nanimarquina because a rug can organise a room before furniture is added, giving colour, acoustic softness and craft a structural role. The house also provides a strong basis for discussing origin and production rather than selling pattern alone.
